Our Journey

Through mentorship and community engagement we help teach our girls essential skills and principles, like leadership skills, community politics,  and how to communicate effectively.

Below are some images that capture the priceless life lessons this club is providing for our girls, as well as the memories we've created, as we focus on community service, self-awareness and self-respect.

BE Girls are currently working on a community project we are calling "Bridging the Gap".  This project has inspired them to go around the community,  interviewing, family members, local business owners,  their peers, and authority figures, in an effort to gather data so that we are able to figure out what we can do to close the gap between the youth and adults in our community.  In the process, BE Girls are not only learning what the adults think of them, but they are also learning important leadership and communication skills and self-confidence.

The Butterfly Effect Girls are #changemakers!

They saw a need for change at their school and decided to get involved.

So proud of our girls for having a part in getting the unfair dress code at their MCSHS amended effective August 26, 2019!

To hear how amazing these young women are and how important this change is for ALL of our girls, please be sure to watch the short video below!

HOW DOES A YOUNG WOMAN KNOW SHE IS NO LONGER A GIRL?

Menstruation? Driver's license? First sexual encounter? First job?

Prom? Body piercing? Graduation?

Modern culture would have us believe that the above markers are what make a young  girl a woman.

The truth is that when our youth are not properly initiated into adulthood by the adults in  their lives,

they seek to self-initiate by choosing destructive behaviors such as with drugs & alcohol abuse,

promiscuous sex and other risky behaviors, all in an effort to express their adultness.

Our girls need a healthy way to transition from adolescence into womanhood. It is my desire to facilitate

empowering rituals & experiences to the girls of the  Butterfly Effect Girls Club , so that they

may learn valuable life and character building skills as they mature into womanhood
